Wool Traditions of Santa Fe
November 4-12, 2018
Santa Fe, New Mexico is celebrated as a singular – even somewhat exotic – place to visit. Its unique feel is the result of hundreds of years of contact, conflict and cooperation between resident Native American, Spanish colonial and Anglo-American cultures. It’s a town unlike any other in the United States. Did you know that Santa Fe
- is the oldest capital city in the United States?
- is located at the southernmost tip of the great Rocky Mountains?
- is affectionately referred to by local residents as “The City Different”?
Join us for an exploration of Santa Fe’s art, landscape and cultural traditions — with a special emphasis on wool and fiber! We’ll enjoy time in downtown, on world famous Canyon Road, at celebrated museums, out in the high desert landscape, and in nearby, historic villages. We’ll also explore northern New Mexico’s knitting, weaving, wool growing, dye and textile production. Participants will get the chance to soak in Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs’ legendary waters. Plenty of free time is included so you can shop, explore additional venues of interest, take advantage of our wonderful hotel spa, take a hike, or visit Santa Fe’s amazing and numerous art establishments. We’ve pulled out all the stops on this tour. It’s going to be a journey to remember!
